Sycamore

Somehow I slept over nine hours last night. It was in two parts, but the first part was around eight hours. And yet, I have still been tired most of the afternoon. Then I stayed up way too late. Here are some happy things from today: One of the vehicles has been in the shop. I walked to pick it up. Crossing the small river along the way I noticed that the leaves are mostly gone. There is still a reflection of an evergreen on the water.   This is the last week to work in wet clay for the ceramics so I went and practiced a bit. I’ve decided that this medium may not be for me. I ended up with three more pieces and four or five that failed. I didn’t count the ones that didn’t make it. The clay can be reused.  The upper right one I made Monday.  The sycamore tree also has lost most of its leaves. The sun now shines on it making it beautifully bright. ☮ Currently reading: Pocketful of Miracles: Prayer, Meditations, and Affirmations to Nurture Your Spirit Every ...

Ceramics Day

The day after a weekend event is hard. I'm always tired and there is always a lot to do. There is, however, incentive to get up and get going now on Mondays; ceramics class. After class, I was pretty tired. Here are some happy things from today: There were errands that I needed to run today and I remembered to do them. Sometimes, the little things are what counts. Today is Zed’s birthday. Happy Birthday to Zed! Keziah and I are still having some problems getting the hang of using the wheel and turning clay into pottery. I did get one item off the wheel today and I am excited to learn what comes next. Keziah did not, but I expect her to take the time this week to go in and practice more. We have our friend at the studio that is willing to help us. It isn't completely round, and  it is supposed to be a tall cylinder, but it is something! Using clay is messy work, these are my jeans. ☮ Currently reading: Pocketful of Miracles: Prayer, Meditations, and Affirmations to Nur...

Craft Day

Image
Most of today was spent at the studio which is pretty much always a good thing. Here are some happy things from today: I woke up early, that is, on time for a Monday. Before anyone else was up, I had a walk and went to the grocery store. The day was off to a good start. Keziah and I had our first ceramics class. Neither of us did well. That is why there is a class I guess. On weeks when we don't have an event to prepare for, we'll be able to practice on our own during non-class times.  It was fun, and that is what counts. At our studio I wove a bunch. I exceeded my goal a little for the day.  The second green and white band is about half done. Yay!  I've broken it down to how much I need to do every day to finish by Thursday.  There is something about the couch or the way I sit that makes it more comfortable to weave at the studio. I also practiced calligraphy more.  The letter g is weird.  I think it is getting a little better… ☮ Currently reading: ...
