Peaches

We missed the window of opportunity to harvest any peaches.  The local wildlife however did not.  I moved a wildlife camera to the very overgrown garden and got some evidence as to what animals are scavenging for food there.  The videos I have uploaded to YouTube are my happy things for today.  It has been a while and I hope I did it all right.  Enjoy! https://youtu.be/eGde2FkGAM4 https://youtu.be/sPTce7Xg-f8 https://youtu.be/Z478nzo-pOs https://youtu.be/CakS5Z6Aisg https://youtu.be/4XVWowksaO8 ☮ Thank you for being part of my happy things.  Stay safe.

Broken, Not Broken

Image
Yesterday the car broke down, Bel and Folke fixed it, but not enough and it was up to TF and I to take the next step in fixing it this morning. Things were going well. There were four parts, one for each cylinder, that we needed to replace. TF and I worked well together and things went well… until we were on the last part, screwing it in the last bolt I had it just about tight enough when the bolt broke. Thankfully, we were able to find bolts at the local automotive store and now the car works a huge amount better.  Other happy things from today: When the bolt broke in half we were officially without a car. The auto place wasn’t far and we started to walk. Thankfully, one of TF’s neighbors picked us up along the way and this shortened the time it took to get the job done. It felt so good when the car was done and it ran well. We visited Bel and Folke again to help them work on the bus. One of the goals was to get the mattress on the bus and we did! The bus hadn’t been start...

Cat Tracks

Image
Totally forgetting my phone-- and thus my camera --when I took Aesop out this afternoon, I missed some picture opportunities.  I say missed, but if I was not so tired I could get my boots and coat on and go back outside for the pictures.  Deer have been wandering around on the back driveway.  There were large prints that broke through the icy layer in places.  There were small prints that must be from a fawn.  There were sizes in between.  Perhaps the next wildlife camera will be closer to the house.  Other happy things from today: While I was sleeping yesterday a new range was delivered.  It is pretty and already has cat prints on the top. It's Weaving Wednesday!  I wish I could say that I did more.  I got three of the repeating patterns done.  Three was one too many for my back, I need to find a more comfortable position.  Day 38 progress was made on the A&S Challenge! ☮ Currently reading: Faith Hacker , by James ‘J...

Self Care Day

Image
Today was mostly spent doing self care.  There was a wedding today that I wanted to go to. Thankfully the bride's mother recorded it and I got to watch it.  Keziah officiated.  The couple plan to marry again with a full ceremony and reception next year.  They canceled because of the pandemic.  I'm so happy that they still got married this year with just some close friends and family.  Other happy things for today: My original plan was to just go to the wildlife camera for the SD card, bring it back to the house to download the contents and then return the SD card.  After getting on coat, hat, boots, and scarf I decided to walk around the property once too.  There were some tracks in the snow, but not a lot of detail.  Here is what I think I saw: I'm pretty sure the tracks below my foot are from a chipmunk; the tracks above from a mouse. Deer. Deer-possibly running. This one I figured out from an internet search. I don't know but I thi...

Deer, Deer...

Image
It was a working day so I am going to try to keep this short.  The other day I downloaded the videos from the wildlife camera out back.  I had the chance to watch them today and have uploaded four of them to my YouTube channel.  They will be released today, January 18, 2022 at 8:00 PM.  That said, here are my happy things for today: There were a bunch of videos because I hadn't backed them up recently.  The first one I chose has a lovely eight point  buck .  Today I learned that some parts of the country count all the points on the antlers and some count the points on only one side.   The second video has at least one  doe .  I think it is a pair of does. One night a  fox  came through and visited. The last one that I chose to publish on YouTube has some anxiety.  Some deer are being chased by what seems to be a  coyote .  Only a chase on the video, no capture.  Exciting! Found

Image
The order for the FitBit charger was delayed.  It was supposed to be here today and now will not be here until Friday.  I decided to look one more time where it should be and there it is.  I looked there at least four times and moved the black headband that the black charger was on top of at least twice.  I am not sure how I missed it.  It doesn't matter, it is found now.  There was five percent left on the battery and my step count for the day was reached before I found the charger.  I am so very happy that I found it.  I am also happy that there will be additional ones coming soon so that I might not have this problem again.  Other things I am happy for today: For Christmas I received a roll up puzzle mat and a new puzzle to do.  Gideon, Keziah, and I started the puzzle today.  We all enjoy doing puzzles.  Being able to roll up the puzzle to put it away will hopefully make it easier for us to do more of them. This par...
