2022 Happy To Be Here

Yesterday I got the official word that mandatory extended time is starting next week. I will be working four or five days a week until Christmas. Suddenly, this is my last weekend to get things done. I'm not sure if this will change how I blog or not. Here are some happy things: At work they play music loudly and there is machinery making noise. This makes it hard for me to hear what goes on around me. What I saw though were some other employees laughing over something. Sometimes you don't have to be part of something for it to make you happy too, sometimes you just need to witness it.   Rather than the normal movies or shows we tend to watch, tonight was comedy sketch night. Zed and Keziah found shorts from shows like Saturday Night Live to end the evening with a laugh.  Keziah got her hair cut today and got some new gnome frames for her glasses. Although it wasn't required, I went to CVS today and had the rapid Covid test. As suspected, it was negative. Since I am flying tomorrow, I felt better making sure.  Other happy things for today: While waiting for the nurse to do all the things a nurse does to prepare for administering a covid test, I noticed something crawling on her neck at the hairline. It was a tick. I took it off her, it hadn’t bitten yet. She was very grateful. I was glad to help. With Keziah’s help, my hair is now colored purple. The picture is before I cleaned off my forehead and my hair was still very wet.  It seems dark... I’m mostly packed and I leave tomorrow. I’ll only be gone a few days.  It was -clean up after the event- day.  Keziah and Zed went early, Gideon and I joined later on.  When everything was cleaned up and things returned to the storage unit, we went out to lunch with the two people remaining.  Great food and friends.   A few other things came to mind from yesterday.   One of the teens from the Barony did my hair.  It came out really nice.  It is a bit worse for wear today but I took a picture to share anyway.  Also, a friend from many years ago came by and we were able to talk for a while.  There were so many people that I didn't get to talk to, I'm grateful to have found time with the ones I did. Other happy things for today: I got out for a nice walk this afternoon before resting for the evening.   The sun turned the horizon orange as it set beyond the hills.  As I sit, alone, in the studio I am again filled with gratitude and happiness at having this space to use.  I say alone, but there are others, friends and probably people I have yet to meet, in the building as well.  Today Keziah stayed home though.  I have worked on the braiding for what will someday be a braided rug and I have spent some time meditating.  The chair that I tend to use I keep moving slightly to chase the sun.  All seems right in my little corner of the room.  Other, or more detail of,  happy things for today: Before going shopping today and picking up a pair of earbuds, I searched my room more for the ones I lost and found them.  Yay!  Listening to music at the studio with them is polite.  Dancing around the studio to music only I can hear is fun.
