Archery

Image
My happy things today started with archery in the morning. I shot well (for me) in my first round but got tired as I continued to practice.  It is also great to visit with my friend who holds the practice. Next I went for a walk along a rail trail not far from where I went to archery practice. The trail is by a small river with some trees that have started to turn yellow and orange. It was lovely. I didn’t bring my backpack or a pen but I decided to look for some Geocaches along the trail. I found two out of the three I looked for but I didn’t log them on my account since I had no pen. It was still fun to find them. ☮ Currently reading: Pocketful of Miracles: Prayer, Meditations, and Affirmations to Nurture Your Spirit Every Day of the Year , Joan Borysenko. Archery

It was later than I wanted to leave this morning, but I made it to archery practice. There was one new person, one friend who just came to visit, three other friends and me. I'm glad I renewed my interest in archery. It was a fun morning. Other happy things from today: Walking with a friend after archery. She took me down some country trails. We saw a place where there used to be a bridge. We also found a geocache ! At home our quest to watch all the Marvel movies and series continued with Black Widow . Such an intense movie! ☮ Thank you for being part of my happy things!  Stay safe.

Lazy Saturday

Image
After I had mowed some of the lawn, done some dishes, and started some of the more intensive unpacking task, Gideon said he wanted to have a lazy Saturday.  Sometimes the young ones have the best ideas. I was hoping for a little Geocaching with him but he wanted the lazy day.  Instead, he played games or watched videos on his phone and I did dishes, unpacked, and had some lazy time while Keziah and Zed went out.  There is something to be said for lazy days, especially when it is hot out.  Other happy things from today: -- The mowing happened in the late morning.  After I came in, hot and sweaty, I went up to Keziah's room to talk with her.  Opening her door and stepping into her air conditioned room was refreshing.  It felt so good I forgot what I wanted to talk with her about.  -- My lazy activities today were reading, watching some Netflix, and taking a nap.  -- We made rootbeer floats for dessert.   -- Gideon wasn't interested in...

Built a Fence-Sort of

This morning Keziah and I helped some friends get some items out of the SCA Baronial storage unit for an upcoming event. One of these friends is the person that I like to geocache with. We took a few minutes and found a geocache that was in the area. I really should go geocaching more often. There was a lovely tree in bloom near the cache. Other happy things from today: I made it into the front yard today to see the flowers. Somehow the front of the house seems to get the least amount of attention. With the beginning of the yard clean up time of year, I decided to make a different place for yard waste. I mowed down a bunch of Japanese knotweed and put up a partial fence. That is where I’ll be dumping most of the leaves and grass clippings this season. I am pleased with my progress. Aesop, our dog, was curled up on the comfy sac with his tail over his nose and eyes. ☮ Currently reading: Pocketful of Miracles: Prayer, Meditations, and Affirmations to Nurture Your Spirit Every Da...

Reading

Image
This morning I finished reading Faith Hacker , by Jim Wilcox.  After finishing this book I contemplated many things, one was writing a review.  I decided not to, although I will put something below here on my blog.  I decided to update my Goodreads and I found a few things that I had forgotten to update and say that I was finished and one that I hadn't entered that I started.  The result is that I am in the middle of five books currently.  One of them is a daily reader with meditations and perhaps shouldn't count.  Anyhow, five books and yet I started looking for other books to read.  Thankfully I stopped myself.  In the last two months I have already added three more books that I haven't started yet.  That said, I like having paper, audio, and digital choices at the same time.  I also like having fiction and non-fiction at the same time.  These allow me to choose depending on my mood or time constraints.  Non-fiction ten...
