2022 Happy To Be Here

It seems that I haven’t checked on the wildlife camera in the woods on our property since June. Most of what was recorded was the leaves blowing in the breeze. Tomorrow the batteries will be charged and I can get it set up again. Hopefully I will get myself out there more often so that this doesn’t happen again. Other happy things for today: I spent some time at the studio getting my new tablet set up. Most of the apps I want are on there I think. I finished watching The Santa Clauses series.  I enjoyed it. My friend, Amy, and I went for a walk along the Londonderry Rail Trail. We walked over four miles. There was ice on most of the water by the trail. One place with rushing water had ice formations alongside it. My breakfast movie today (I get up early on Monday's) was finishing Father Christmas Is Back . I'm not in love with any of the movies I've been watching. They have happy endings though, and that is what counts.  Other happy things from today: Gideon and I walked together to the studio from a local restaurant. I thought the walk was only one mile, but it was two. We walked by the planetarium and some of the planets they have displayed on the solar system walk. Last time I did this walk I only found Pluto and Neptune. Today we found Uranus too! Gideon with Pluto. Gideon with Neptune. Uranus and a little of Gideon. We also walked near a pond that seemed to have a layer of ice on it. It was pretty. Someone has decorated a tree that hangs over the sidewalk near the studio.   At the studio, I came close to finishing the backing on my latch hook, maybe next time. Gift giving has never been something I have been strong at. Every once in a while though I come up with something. Today I stood in line at the post office for quite a while to send a small package to a dear friend. Hopefully there will be no fitting or allergy problems and they will like it. For now, I am happy to have thought of something and acted on it.  Other happy things from today: Gideon and I went out for a nice walk.  The weather was beautiful, t-shirt weather.  We passed some kind of tree that had some good sized buds on it.  The ice is melting on the little pond we walked by. There is a huge gorgeous sycamore tree that I asked Keziah to stand in front of for size.  I've been meaning to take a picture of it for weeks, today I remembered!   Cat pets! We spent a bunch of time at the studio.  I wanted to work on the hat but lacked the space since Gideon was doing school work.  Instead I braided for the someday rug.  Day 75...

 Why is it that when a day is nearing the end and we are weary that a common comment to say is, "It's been a long day."   And yet during that long day when things are busy one might say, "There is never enough time in a day."  Both of these days are the same length and yet one is long and the other isn't long enough.  However your day is going, I hope you find something to be happy for.  Some happy things from my day are: Previously I wrote about how a critter has been eating my geraniums.  It may just be wishful thinking, but I think at least one of the geraniums has some new leaves starting. Also in a previous blog I wrote about a warm day and how the water was running off and formed a small waterfall.  Today that waterfall is still.
