Thankful Wednesday

Thankful Wednesday. Here are some things I am thankful for on this winter day: The old oak tree is still standing on the back property. I didn’t go all the way to it, just far enough to get a picture. Both of my wildlife cameras are not working. I am thankful that I got to use them for a while and see some of the wildlife on the property. I am thankful for the Christmas entertainment that I have been watching and continue to enjoy on both Netflix and Disney+. ☮ Currently reading: Pocketful of Miracles: Prayer, Meditations, and Affirmations to Nurture Your Spirit Every Day of the Year , Joan Borysenko. Thankful for Yesterday

Image
Yesterday was supposed to be Thankful Wednesday and I forgot. Instead we have Thankful Thursday (because that's original 😉 ). Here are some things I am thankful for: There was actually time off offered at work today and I got out an hour early. That meant I could start my laundry earlier. Instead of going to bed earlier, I watched a movie while my laundry finished. I kind of took a different turn with this one and went with a rated R movie and watched A Bad Moms Christmas . I'm pretty sure I'm not completely like any of the over-the-top moms in the movie and I am thankful for that.  Apparently there is a movie, not Christmas themed, about the bad moms too. Nanni, because I wanted a picture. ☮ Currently reading:  Pocketful of Miracles: Prayer, Meditations, and Affirmations to Nurture Your Spirit Every Day of the Year , Joan Borysenko. Thankful Wednesday

It is Thankful Wednesday! I’ve been watching a bunch of Christmas movies on Netflix. They have pretty much all been romantic comedies. I’m thankful for this seemingly never ending supply of holiday cheer. Today I watched Single All the Way . It didn’t quite tick off all the same themes as most of the others have. In my opinion it was an absolutely adorable gay romantic comedy.  The other thing I am thankful for today is food at work. Sometimes, when it is busy, they bring in free food at work for the employees. Today I got an egg and cheese bagel. It was pretty good and a nice change from my usual trail mix meal.  There is supposed to be something every day this week.  I don't know what they had yesterday, I forgot to look. ☮ Currently reading: Pocketful of Miracles: Prayer, Meditations, and Affirmations to Nurture Your Spirit Every Day of the Year , Joan Borysenko. It is Thankful Wednesday!  My thankful things for today: I am thankful for canned soup. When leftovers aren't available it is one of the easiest meals I can make. This time of year it is a bonus because they are also a hot meal. As winter gets closer hot food becomes more appreciated. My after work meal today was tomato basil soup. I also had a toasted cheese sandwich to go with it (while I watched The Noel Diary ). This is definitely comfort food for me.   Another thing I am thankful for is that Zed very graciously fronted the money and bought me a new laptop. I'll pay him back when I can get to the bank… I have no idea where my checkbook is (I don't remember the last time I wrote a check).  Which leads me to being thankful for the technology that we have nowadays that makes it possible for me to buy things without a checkbook. Online banking and debit cards are very useful things. Nanni! Because I wanted a picture. ☮ Currently reading: Pocketful of Miracle...

Thanksgiving Day

Image
Happy Thanksgiving!! It was a work day (night?) for me. Because of the holiday, I only had to work until 8:45 this morning instead of 11:50. For some reason, I don't have to work the extra day of Friday this week.  They changed my schedule.  Other things that I am happy for today are: They served us breakfast burritos at work today. Every so often they bring in some outside food for the employees. Being a picky eater, I don't always choose to partake. Today I did and chose an egg, cheese, and potato burrito. It was pretty good.  Hearing from family and friends is always a happy occurrence.  I'm happy to say that my youngest is doing fine today, we texted.  My oldest is also fine, we had a quick call when I couldn't find the cinnamon. In the afternoon, after a short nap, I visited my friend, Amy and her son for a Thanksgiving meal- vegan style. I don't care for mushrooms, so I skipped the turkey substitute, the rest was delicious. I like the vegan green...

Thankful Wednesday

It's thankful Wednesday! It is the day before Thanksgiving, the official day of the year for people to be thankful. Isn't it great that we have a day just to show thanks? Here are some things I am thankful for today and always: Family. I love my family, even the relatives that I don't get along well with. The immediate family that I live with though, they are awesome. We look out for each other.  I miss my youngest who is away.  Friends. I am blessed with many friends, some that are chosen family. I see or talk with some much more than others, but they are all special and hold a place in my heart.   Pets. They are an extension of the family. They comfort us, entertain us, and need us. ☮ Currently reading: Pocketful of Miracles: Prayer, Meditations, and Affirmations to Nurture Your Spirit Every Day of the Year , Joan Borysenko. Thankful Wednesday

It is Thankful Wednesday! Here are a few thankful things: Today I am thankful for leftovers. Leftovers take so much of the brain work out of eating. This is especially useful when I am very tired from working all night. Today the leftover was pasta.  I am thankful for online gift registries. Keziah and I were able to order gifts for an upcoming baby shower without being together by browsing the gift registry at the same time and talking on the phone.  I am also grateful that that part of the task is done and I don't have to think about it anymore. One person I am eternally grateful for is my son-in-law, Zed (he let me take a picture of him working). I am thankful to him for letting me live with him, Keziah, and Gideon. He is a wonderful husband for Keziah and father for Gideon. He puts love and a sense of humor into all our lives. ☮ Currently reading: Pocketful of Miracles: Prayer, Meditations, and Affirmations to Nurture Your Spirit Every Day of the Year , Joan Boryse...

Thankful Wednesday

It is Thankful Wednesday. There are a few of my friends that are posting daily on Facebook for November things that they are thankful for. My Facebook memories remind me that I have done that before too. I'm thankful to be able to read them when I see them. Here are some things I am thankful for: The night was clear with a mostly full moon to guide me to the car last night. I heard from my friend in Texas today. We are both in a better headspace this week than we were last week. I am thankful for the happy memories I have of people that are no longer with us. Nanni was nice enough to pose so I could have a picture in today’s blog. ☮ Currently reading: Pocketful of Miracles: Prayer, Meditations, and Affirmations to Nurture Your Spirit Every Day of the Year , Joan Borysenko. Thankful That It Is Wednesday

Image
Thankful Wednesday. Apparently I haven't been looking up much lately when I leave for work, or it has been overcast. Looking up last night there was Orion, not where I thought I saw the constellation last. It was beautiful, I am thankful to have seen it. My other thankful things for today are the cats. It is nice to have them near. Nanni, the brown tabby, likes to follow me around the first few minutes that I am up. Once I pet her a little bit, she wanders away. Winston and Nanni. ☮ Currently reading: Pocketful of Miracles: Prayer, Meditations, and Affirmations to Nurture Your Spirit Every Day of the Year , Joan Borysenko. DuoLingo

Image
Thankful Wednesday. It has been a long time since I forgot to practice DuoLingo. Even with the few times I forgot and the program let me keep my streak, 1400 days is a lot. Unfortunately, practice and learning are two different things and I still have ways to go. I'm thankful for being able to learn this way.   I finished listening to The Raven Boys on the way home from work today. It didn't end the way I expected. What this means is that this is part of a series. I'm very thankful that the next book in the series is available so I can start listening on my way into work. I really enjoyed the book. ☮ Currently reading: Pocketful of Miracles: Prayer, Meditations, and Affirmations to Nurture Your Spirit Every Day of the Year , Joan Borysenko. Thankful Wednesday

Thankful Wednesday! Today I am thankful to be living in a part of the world where there are so many different types of trees that bring so many colors in the fall. There is more to life than foliage. I'm also thankful for the generosity of people. Recently someone offered us another car. I'm fairly certain we won't be getting it, but it is a wonderful offer. Then there is the class I am trying to work on to learn Java. If I can complete it and do well on the exam in January, I might get accepted into the next class, through work. This could open up some more opportunities. I'm thankful for this. ☮ Currently reading: Pocketful of Miracles: Prayer, Meditations, and Affirmations to Nurture Your Spirit Every Day of the Year , Joan Borysenko. Long Day is Long

Image
Enough sleep was achieved for me to work the night, but they didn't need as many people as came in, so I went home. I thought about going to the studio to work on my class, but I stayed home instead. Doing schoolwork was short lived though because I fell asleep again for a nice nap. Later Zed tried to help with one of the assignments but neither of us can figure out what I'm doing wrong. I'm grateful for his help. Other happy things for today: Since I wasn't working, I went to archery practice. My highest score for the day was 49 points! This is not my highest ever (close), but certainly the highest in a long time.  Practice helps. After archery, some friends and I went on a nice hike. The trails were new to us and were also used by ATVs. Thankfully not so many were out today that it was too loud or busy. I'm not sure what this plant is. In the evening my protege and I met up with friends at a bookstore/cafe to celebrate a birthday and listen to some blues....

Thankful Wednesday

The other day when I finished listening to a book on Hoopla, Keziah and I talked about how I was having trouble figuring out what to listen to. I would find one book in a series but the others weren’t available or I just didn’t find what I was looking for. She did some searching in Hoopla and found a few different books that she thinks I will enjoy. I’m enjoying the one I am listening to now, The Raven Boys . I am thankful for my daughter for many reasons, today it is for her book recommendations. Wednesday's Thankful Things

Image
It is Thankful Wednesday. Things I am thankful for today include: Sleep. The amount of sleep I got yesterday seemed adequate. I felt a huge amount better last night than the previous one. Work seemed to go well. Now if I can get enough tonight too… When we moved to this house about two and a half years ago the back property had been logged and parts of it were barren. I'm thankful that is no longer the case. It has grown in so much that the trails are all but gone and if I want them, I'll need to tend to them next year. I'm thankful for a negative covid test. ☮ Currently reading: Pocketful of Miracles: Prayer, Meditations, and Affirmations to Nurture Your Spirit Every Day of the Year , Joan Borysenko. Short Thankful Post

Image
It is Thankful Wednesday! It is my midweek day where I am too tired to do much. Here are some things I am thankful for today: At work, a box fell and almost hit me in the head. I'm thankful that it missed. Also at work, I found out that raises are coming in October. Yay more money! TF called to do our midweek check in. I had forgotten, so I'm thankful she called. I also forgot that I wanted to practice typing and do a little cleaning each day. It was a perfect reminder. All About the Tech

Image
It is my thankful Wednesday. This is the middle of my work week and the day I tend to be the most tired and so a thankful day seemed a better option than happy. Here are some things I am thankful for today: Yesterday I wrote about applying for some training through work. If all goes well, this will be a long process. I'm thankful that the first step is done and accepted. I'll be doing the next step over the weekend when I have slept. One of the things I will need to know more about for the training is JAVA. It is a computer programming language that I know little about. I'm thankful that Hoopla had a small ebook I could borrow through my library to read and start learning. Every little bit will help, or I'll find that this isn't for me. Either way is a good learning process. Today is the last day of summer. I'm thankful that autumn is on the way, though I'm not looking forward to winter this year, maybe that will change. I took some pictures of s...

It is Thankful Wednesday!  That means I am two-thirds of the way through my work week.  Work went well.  I have a new manager and I was able to talk with them for a few minutes today.  I let them know that I want to learn more things.  There are staffing issues that are making it difficult to train people right now, but at least I have voiced my wants.   Other things I am thankful for today: Netflix and other streaming services.  I've been using old movies as background noise for when I am weaving the background sections.  It needs to be fairly quiet still when I weave the designs, but the practice has been making that easier too. I completed the weaving part of the green and white band.  Tomorrow it will come off the loom and I will stitch the ends so they don't unravel.  There will be at least two of the eight bands completed, possibly five.  My friend hasn't quite finished the three she has been working on but she is g...

Thankful Wednesday is also a Weaving Wednesday today. Little by little I work on the weaving project. I wish I could weave faster, maybe I'll get faster the more I do it. Still, I'm thankful that I have this skill. Other thankful things for today: My work week is only three days. So I only have one more day this week. Yesterday I got a response to the email I sent to sign up for the ceramics class. I'm in! Keziah is going to take it as well. I'm thankful that I was able to push through my anxiety and send that email. I’m thankful that I got a good (for me) amount of sleep yesterday. It helped my workday go better. ☮ Currently reading: Pocketful of Miracles: Prayer, Meditations, and Affirmations to Nurture Your Spirit Every Day of the Year , Joan Borysenko. September

Image
Happy September!! The month changed and the temperature dropped to a beautiful reasonable degree. Here are some other happy things from today: They placed me as an inductor at work for part of the day. Someone unloads packages and I scan them in. As I left work I saw the person that unloaded for me and thanked them for doing a good job and being attentive to how fast or slow I was working and noticing when I was having trouble. I only wove about an inch, but I did the thing and wove! There were friends that came for short visits today.  It is always good to see friends. I tried to get a picture of the lovely sky. ☮ Currently reading: Pocketful of Miracles: Prayer, Meditations, and Affirmations to Nurture Your Spirit Every Day of the Year , Joan Borysenko. Thankful Wednesday

Image
It is the last day of August. I'm tired of the heat of summer and looking forward to September weather. I'm thankful for the seasons and the changes that they bring. Other things I am thankful for: When I let a supervisor at work know the job I was doing was making me feel ill, they switched where I was. Sometimes, packages coming at me fast along the rollers give me an upset stomach. Today I was at the fastest area and it didn't go well. So I'm thankful they moved me. There is a possibility that I will have more help with weaving. I'm very thankful for this. I finished the first pattern on the weaving, crossed fencing swords. I'm hopeful that at least some of the pieces will be ready before the event.  I'm thankful that I am remembering how to weave and some little tricks are coming back to me. ☮ I'm going to try to get back into the habit of listing what I am reading...
