2022 Happy To Be Here

It has been a long day. There are many things I should have done more of, like classwork and dishes. It was a rather relaxing day though. At least I got plenty of sleep. Other happy things for today: It is soon to be voting time and the political signs are dotting the roadways. It is also soon to be Halloween and there are some signs for that too. And so I have to chuckle when passing one section where the signs are political, political, SCARY, political, political. They all fit together so well. 😉 There were three things I needed at the grocery store: milk, vanilla ice cream (maybe need was a strong word?), and dinner. At least the dinner was fairly healthy? My friend Amy and I met for a walk today. We used to meet on Mondays but lately I have had ceramics. It was a lovely walk at Livingston Park with ducks on the pond and still some foliage to reflect on the water. I watched too much Netflix and finished watching the Merlin series. On a normal Thursday I would be done with my work week and looking forward to the weekend. This Thursday I am preparing myself for two more days of work. I will be putting my name on a list with others for volunteering to leave early if by some chance they are overstaffed. When I have made it through this, I'll know I can make it through the Christmas time rush as well. Until today, I've been getting more sleep than I usually do, so that is good. Happy things for today: Talking with Gideon about making pillow/blanket forts and playing video games. The afghan is Gideon hiding. I should be studying, instead I watch Merlin on Netflix when I get home from work, weary. It requires no real physical exercise or brain work. Wednesday is my day to be thankful. Earlier this week there was a very minor problem with the car I drive the most. It was a sound that could have been anything but it turned out that just a new screw could fix it. Today I am thankful for a working vehicle that does what it needs to do. It is something that gets taken for granted until something happens and suddenly you're stuck. A few times a week my friend from Texas, TF, and I talk on the phone and go over our plans for the week with each other. These are our accountability meetings. When there are things we struggle with we try to talk through it and try to come at things from a different angle or perspective. I am thankful for the friendship and for trying to keep each other accountable. It turns out that I like zoning out with the television on when I eat after work. I haven't always, but lately it has been nice to turn on some media outlets and find things to watch. Currently that is the series Merlin on Netfl...
