Ceramics Day

Image
Waking up early today didn't mean I was early for anything else, especially my bedtime. I did get some things accomplished and that was good. Here are some happy things from today: Before the end of the open enrollment period at work I remembered to look into my options. I'm still happy with my choice. In ceramics class I made a bowl!  More importantly, I was supposed to make a bowl.  This makes a total of four pieces so far. I trimmed two others today, one that I added a handle to. The first piece I made was bisque fired. It is so light weight and fragile feeling! Not the best cylinder.  Piece number three. A bowl, piece number four. A mug, I put the handle on and it is setting.  Piece number two. Piece number one after the first firing. It should be a cylinder. Almost every day that isn't a work day I consider letting my step goal streak go. Despite the streak, that is over two years, on non-work days I generally struggle to make the time to get in the steps...

Spring Cleaning

Sometimes reaching my step goal for the day is tedious as I pace through the house. I'm always happy when I reach that 10,000 step mark though. The pacing is worth it. Other happy things for today include: The tulips I planted last year were a variety blend. As well as random colors there is variation in the bloom time. There will be more opening in the next few days. Keziah and I cleaned the studio today. Things had been brought there without finding places and, well, it needed work. The studio is looking so much better now and I look forward to creating things there this weekend. ☮ Currently reading: Pocketful of Miracles: Prayer, Meditations, and Affirmations to Nurture Your Spirit Every Day of the Year , Joan Borysenko. And The Middle Ages: A Graphic History , by Eleanor Janega and Neil Max Emmanuel. Thank you for being part of my happy things. Stay safe.

Yay for Family!

Today TF and I visited Bel, Folke at my ex-husband and his wife's place. Bel and Folke are making a recreational vehicle out of an old school bus. We helped them out. It was so great to see them and be able to take part in some of the build.  Today's other happy things: Today I almost said goodbye to my 10,000 steps a day streak. I had hoped to finish getting my steps once we got back to TF's house, but the car broke down. My fitbit didn't move to Texas time like I did. I changed the settings on the Fitbit so it will follow whatever time zone I'm in now. We got back to the house in time for me to get the steps in. As mentioned earlier, the car broke down. We called Bel and they came to the rescue with Folke and my ex-husband. Family can ve a wonderful thing.  We managed to break down across the street from an auto supply store.  That made getting parts easy.  Unfurtunately, the fix didn't quite fix the problem.  It did get us back to TF's house ...
