2022 Happy To Be Here

The first errand I had today was to drive to meet someone to give them some favors to embellish and put together for me. We had a nice short visit. She recently acquired a small loom and had no idea how to use it. Since it wasn't a style of loom I have used before, I loaned her some books to help out. That was my first visit with a friend today. Other happy things from today include: When choosing the place to meet the friend I noticed a stone arch bridge on the map nearby. I took a short walk to it. The bridge was open to foot traffic only.. Taken from the stone arch bridge, the modern replacement is also stone. The afternoon was spent playing Minecaft with TF. This was a nice phone visit with a friend. We battled monsters and moned precious stones and had fun. This Friday was studio day and studio days are good. Before the studio, we visited Concord's Market Days for a short while. During Market Days part of Main Street and some of the side streets are closed off and the streets are lined with pop-up tents and merchant trailers with fair food, crafts, entertainment, and other things to peruse or purchase. It is a fun way to kick off the summer. Here are some other happy things from today: Keziah and I stopped at Joann's for some fabric. There was a woman there who was having trouble choosing fabric and asked for our help (we happened to be in the same aisle). This person had never been in a fabric store and seemed a little out of her element. She was trying to match her couch pillow fabric. She said she only needed to replace two of the pillows, so not the whole couch.  None of the fabric was a perfect match so she wasn't sure if it would look right. Sometimes the best thing to do is nothing. Other times the best thing is to go to the studio. I hadn't planned on going to the studio this afternoon. I really didn't have anything planned except getting to bed early. When Keziah asked if I wanted to go to the studio, I said yes.  I won't get to bed as early as I'd like. I did take a rough inventory of the favors that need to be worked on and was able to finish sewing two up.  Ideally I will get all the favors that are started, finished, before the event we are having in June. Other things I am happy for today: Keziah found some fabric and she is thinking about making me some garb; a twelfth century bliaut to be precise. I'm not sure how I feel about the color of the fabric. It seems to look okay next to my skin though. Our studio is an attic space and so it has angled ceilings. Occasionally we hit our heads.
