Turtles

Once again I find myself awake too long on a Monday. Soon I will sleep and it will be good. Happy things from today include: The plumber came and fixed what we thought was wrong. Unfortunately, a new problem presented itself. Now we are trying to replace the faucet but it is rusted to the sink. I'm happy the leak we had is fixed, the rest of the house has hot water again, and I got some of the dishes cleaned. My friend Amy and I met for a nice walk this afternoon. We saw some turtles sunning themselves.   Thursday I leave for Texas… I might have all my clothes packed. Wow! Keziah and Gideon took some time today to practice buffer weapon fighting. Gideon is excited to get back into children's SCA fighting. ☮ Currently reading:  Pocketful of Miracles: Prayer, Meditations, and Affirmations to Nurture Your Spirit Every Day of the Year , Joan Borysenko. Easter Sunday

Again, plumbing did not go as planned. In the past I have worked with copper pipes and used a product called Sharkbite to make connections. Supposedly what we got for Sharkbites will also work with the Pex pipes that are under the kitchen sink. They didn't for us. A plumber will be here tomorrow. Part of my day was spent on this last attempt to fix this problem under the kitchen sink. Here are some happy things from today: After lunch I went to the studio to do my taxes. It was the best place to go for quiet, space, and I could use two monitors if needed. I was able to finish them and I will be getting a refund. Not a lot, but enough to cover the plane tickets to Texas I bought two weeks ago. Yay! While at the studio a person from the SCA came by, as well as Keziah, to go through some of our SCA Baronial gifts for ideas. These are gifts for us to give. The goal was to find ideas for what other things we could use as gifts that people could make. It was fun to get to talk with her....

Plumbing

Plumbing problems are frustrating. I'm pretty sure I have done everything right but things are still leaking. But that is not a happy thing, but the following are: Keziah and Gideon put up a fence for Aesop.  He seems to love it in his large fenced area where he can run. On the walk this morning before the rains came I saw some horse hoof prints.   I'm ending the day with a large bowl of ice cream. Through all the trials and frustrations and lack of hot water in the kitchen, and now the house, the family has supported my attempts at fixing it all and don't understand why what I have done hasn't worked. ☮ Currently reading: Pocketful of Miracles: Prayer, Meditations, and Affirmations to Nurture Your Spirit Every Day of the Year , Joan Borysenko. Plans Washed Away

This morning I did some dishes before sitting down for breakfast. After eating I went to put my dirty dish into the sink and noticed way too much water on the floor for the dishes I had done. In fact, it was more like how much water there would be if someone had tried to bathe a German shepherd in the sink… or something leaking. And so my day of crafting, taxes, and walking with my friend was drowned. What could have been me just getting the parts became other errands as well. When I finally got the pieces put back together, it didn't all fit and I went back to the store.. Did you know that when pipes say they are 1.5 inches that is the size of the hole and has nothing to do with the outside size of the pipe where things actually go together? I did. Did I remember this? Of course not. The end result is that after another trip for another part it is working again. Yay me!! Clean up is for the rest of the family. Other happy things: Despite the time consuming plumbing...
