Ash Wednesday

After work I met Keziah at the SCA storage unit to look through things for the event this weekend.  The person who is in charge of the Barony's things has done a great job of cataloging many of the containers.  It has made finding things so much easier.  We were able to find all the things that we were looking for that we thought were in there.  Not everything fit in the van so another trip will need to be made on Friday.  Yay, organization!  Other happy things for today: When I left for work there were coyote tracks walking down the driveway.  At least I am fairly certain that is the animal that left these. The picture was taken quickly as I was heading out to work. Hugs.  Hugs from friends are one of the things that I have missed during the pandemic.  A friend came by to work with us at the studio for a bit and she is a super hugger. For day 59 of the A&S challenge I tried to fix the warp on one of the looms.  It is Weaving Wednes...

Walking the Dog

Image
One of the things I was hoping to do while the majority of the family is away was to get the house a bit cleaner.  Today I got started in the kitchen.  The kitchen might be the only thing I end up working on.  I want to think that I suddenly have a bunch of time on my hands.  The truth is, I have less time because I need to walk the dog.  That is good, I am getting outside more and I like that.  Other happy things from today: While on one of the walks with Aesop today I picked up the SD card from the wildlife camera.  Along with the many deer there were two clips with a fox and one with a coyote.  I hope to load them onto the YouTube channel later. I love the views from out back. For day 48 of the A&S challenge I went to the studio and worked on a tunic for Gideon.  Keziah cut out the pieces before they went on vacation and I get to see how much I can sew while they are gone.   ☮ Currently reading: Pocketful of Miracles: ...

Labyrinth

Image
While TF and I were on the phone going over our weekly accountability the subject of labyrinths came up.  She had learned of a few near where she lives in Texas and is planning to visit one this week.  So I did a search for some near me.  It turns out there are labyrinths all over the place.  Looking for one?  Try this website .  Now I want to build one on the property somewhere.  Somehow, I doubt I will get to it, but it would be a neat thing to have.  Other happy things from today: I took Aesop, our dog, on a walk today.  We went to a conservation area in town.  There was one other set of human prints along part of the trail since the snow early last week.  We followed what might have been coyote tracks for a while though.  Tracks can be really hard to read in the snow.  There was some scat and that is part of what makes me think of a coyote. Very little detail, just a blob in the snow. Aesop has a much shorter st...

Deer, Deer...

Image
It was a working day so I am going to try to keep this short.  The other day I downloaded the videos from the wildlife camera out back.  I had the chance to watch them today and have uploaded four of them to my YouTube channel.  They will be released today, January 18, 2022 at 8:00 PM.  That said, here are my happy things for today: There were a bunch of videos because I hadn't backed them up recently.  The first one I chose has a lovely eight point  buck .  Today I learned that some parts of the country count all the points on the antlers and some count the points on only one side.   The second video has at least one  doe .  I think it is a pair of does. One night a  fox  came through and visited. The last one that I chose to publish on YouTube has some anxiety.  Some deer are being chased by what seems to be a  coyote .  Only a chase on the video, no capture.  Exciting! Day 16 of the A&S ch...
