Pipe Dream

Image
There were balloons at work today. Some people put them in their hair or attached the string to themselves somewhere. Other happy things from today: Bel is here! Bel is visiting for a bit, Folke was not able to come this time. It is wonderful to have both my adult children near me. Keziah and Zed bought a cargo trailer. Suddenly going to events and packing for them just became so much easier. Bel and I got to look at RV trailers while Keziah did paperwork for the trailer. I used to dream of living in an RV and traveling the country. It is fun to look at what RV trailers have to offer. They are more than I can afford to buy, and even harder to take anywhere with gas prices what they are. It is still fun to dream though. ☮ Currently reading: Pocketful of Miracles: Prayer, Meditations, and Affirmations to Nurture Your Spirit Every Day of the Year , Joan Borysenko. Little Things

It was my hope to be in bed by three this afternoon. I didn’t make it, but I’m still hoping it won’t be too much longer. Here are a couple happy things from today: At work I was taught how to work in the unload area. I haven’t put this to practice at all so I don’t feel like I learned how to do it yet. Most of the information I absorbed had to do with being safe. I had a -what if- moment that resulted in a conversation with Gideon. Everything is fine but I suddenly couldn’t remember if Gideon knew what to do if he needed to call 911. Now I am pretty sure he does and that is a good thing. Bel and I had a nice little conversation today. They left Texas about two weeks ago, went to Colorado and are now in Kansas on the way to see friends in Ohio. RV life.  Yes, I am a little envious. Keziah picked some lilacs the other day and I put a sprig on the dashboard of the car. It has shriveled up a bit but I am loving the colors that it is so far.  The blue and purple are both...

Dentist

For many, many, many years I would not go to see a dentist.  There were lots of reasons, the biggest one being money.  With all the things that happen at a dentist visit... well, it isn't necessarily the most pleasant experience.  All that said, I LOVE when my teeth have been cleaned.  The process that it takes to get there, not as much.  It also is wonderful to have the fresh, just brushed teeth.  Today I got my teeth cleaned.  Today, thanks to the job I have, it cost zero dollars.  Today I have happy teeth.  Other happy things from this day: -Last fall I bought a raised bed for closer to the house to plant herbs in.  Today I finally assembled it.  It is in the living room.  Ideally I will gather enough energy after work tomorrow to make space for it outside and start the process of moving it.  For now, it will gently fill the living with the scent of untreated wood. -My friend, Amy, came up to the house...

Yay for Family!

Today TF and I visited Bel, Folke at my ex-husband and his wife's place. Bel and Folke are making a recreational vehicle out of an old school bus. We helped them out. It was so great to see them and be able to take part in some of the build.  Today's other happy things: Today I almost said goodbye to my 10,000 steps a day streak. I had hoped to finish getting my steps once we got back to TF's house, but the car broke down. My fitbit didn't move to Texas time like I did. I changed the settings on the Fitbit so it will follow whatever time zone I'm in now. We got back to the house in time for me to get the steps in. As mentioned earlier, the car broke down. We called Bel and they came to the rescue with Folke and my ex-husband. Family can ve a wonderful thing.  We managed to break down across the street from an auto supply store.  That made getting parts easy.  Unfurtunately, the fix didn't quite fix the problem.  It did get us back to TF's house ...
