Baronial Birthday

Image
We had an SCA event today to celebrate the Barony being 35. I think I did better with people than the last event, but I still need to work on it. We also chose our new Arts and Sciences Champion. It is always a difficult choice, but there can be only one. There were three entrants, so at least the options weren't overwhelming. There were also three judges, so at least I didn't need to have to make the decision on my own. These don't look like much in the picture. They are lovely beaded headdresses made to  resemble 15th century (I think) Italian. Tablet weaving. Embroidery. In case you are curious, the tablet woven person is the new A&S Champion. Other happy things from today: There is a guild, the Dabbler's Guild, within our Barony that had a lovely hands-on display. People could try a few different types of crafts including weaving, sprang, and kumihimo. The event was small but space was made for the fighters. I got to watch them for a few minutes. It is a...

AFSP Walk

Image
This is the first time I have ever started to think that being a snow bird isn't that bad of an idea. Am I forgetting how much the heat bothers me? Anyway, here are a couple happy things from today: Today I participated in a walk to help prevent suicide through the AFSP . It is a cause I believe in.  They give away different colored beads to show the reasons for being there.  A color for loss of a spouse, personal struggle, loss of a friend, etc.  This year they added rainbow beads to show support for the struggles within the LGBTQ+ community. The event meant a nice visit with my dear friend and her family. Concerning the job/training steps I have been working towards, I completed half what I need to do this weekend. ☮ Currently reading: Pocketful of Miracles: Prayer, Meditations, and Affirmations to Nurture Your Spirit Every Day of the Year , Joan Borysenko. And JAVA , Adam Dodson. Thank you for being part of my happy things. Stay safe.

The order for the FitBit charger was delayed.  It was supposed to be here today and now will not be here until Friday.  I decided to look one more time where it should be and there it is.  I looked there at least four times and moved the black headband that the black charger was on top of at least twice.  I am not sure how I missed it.  It doesn't matter, it is found now.  There was five percent left on the battery and my step count for the day was reached before I found the charger.  I am so very happy that I found it.  I am also happy that there will be additional ones coming soon so that I might not have this problem again.  Other things I am happy for today: For Christmas I received a roll up puzzle mat and a new puzzle to do.  Gideon, Keziah, and I started the puzzle today.  We all enjoy doing puzzles.  Being able to roll up the puzzle to put it away will hopefully make it easier for us to do more of them. This par...
