Snow Sounds

When I don't work and my schedule adjusts to daytime, I often stay snuggled in bed doing things on my phone. This morning it was snowing outside. I can hear the cars go by. I can tell when the roads are wet. Right now (around 8 AM) I can tell that some snow is staying on the roads and under tires, at least in some spots. There is a muffled crunching sort of sound the tires make when rolling over snow. And yet there isn't. I realize that the crunching was a slower vehicle, probably on the side of the road, turning, or driveway. Most cars are traveling at a reasonable speed, the snow is most likely blowing to the sides, lightweight. The sound is still muffled slightly which tells me that the snow is falling.

Other happy things for today:

  • Day 5: Today the A&S challenge is not an unfinished project.  I found my lucet so I decided to refresh my memory on how to do a lucet braid. There were YouTube videos and multiple failed attempts. Eventually I used a video that taught how to make the braid using hands instead of the wooden lucet. I got about three inches done before getting frustrated and stopped. It actually seemed to look okay until that point. Then I accidentally pulled half of it out. Thankfully, I got a picture first.

  • Snow fell and it was pretty.

  • The sky was in a mixed state when the sun was setting.  There were some clear spots, thin wispy clouds and big cumulus clouds.

  • Aesop, the dog, was sleeping on the couch.  He reminded me of Falkor from the movie Neverending Story.

Thank you for being part of my happy things. Stay safe.

  1. Falcor! Shadow sometimes gets the Falcor look as well. 😍 I haven't heard of lucet braiding before. I watched the video you linked, as well as one showing a few ways of using the fork. Using the fork looked more complicated! But not as complicated as the tablet weaving video I watched after you mentioned that in a previous post - yikes! Such cool skills you have.
