Weaving Wednesday

 Zed and Gideon both got drones for Christmas this year.  I know very little about them in general, but Zed's is supposed to be really great.  What I love about this is not the drone.  When Zed talks about this or shows me what it can do he just lights up.  Sometimes, the happy things are seeing how happy other people are and listening to them as they talk about their happiness.  Other happy things for me today:

  • Aesop, our dog, was good and didn't get up on the couch while our cat, Winston, was there.  Aesop stood at the couch, his nose to a bone, and started to fall asleep.


  • Eventually I picked up Aesop, snuggled him, and he did take a little nap.  
Yay!  Warm puppy snuggles.
  • For my third day of the 100 day A&S Challenge I did a little tablet weaving.  It turned out to mostly be trying to fix a mess I made.  I couldn't remember what I had been trying to do so I tried to take out a few rows.  Thirty minutes later I had a small mess and just put the cards where I wanted and wove for a few minutes.  In tablet weaving, turning the tablets or cards is part of how the pattern is created.  Maybe next time I'll try to make something other than stripes.
Whenever this gets finished, the mess will
be cut out or folded to be a hem.

Peaches

Snow Sounds

 When I don't work and my schedule adjusts to daytime, I often stay snuggled in bed doing things on my phone. This morning it was snowing outside. I can hear the cars go by. I can tell when the roads are wet. Right now (around 8 AM) I can tell that some snow is staying on the roads and under tires, at least in some spots. There is a muffled crunching sort of sound the tires make when rolling over snow. And yet there isn't. I realize that the crunching was a slower vehicle, probably on the side of the road, turning, or driveway. Most cars are traveling at a reasonable speed, the snow is most likely blowing to the sides, lightweight. The sound is still muffled slightly which tells me that the snow is falling.  Other happy things for today: Day 5: Today the A&S challenge is not an unfinished project.  I found my lucet so I decided to refresh my memory on how to do a lucet braid. Weaving Day

My grandson, Gideon, has been trying to learn magic tricks with cards. He struggles with the slight of hand, and knows it. I admire that he is trying. He also tries to invent new card games. Other happy things from today: My friend, Amy, had a craft afternoon at her house today for just a few people. Most of us had weaving projects. I didn't get as much done as I wanted, but made some good progress on my loom. It was also good to spend time with friends.  Later, at home the family had leftovers from Thanksgiving, including pie for dessert. The pies are almost gone and I have enjoyed them while we've had them.  We also watched a movie together. Spider-Man: No Way Home was a really good movie that Keziah and I had seen, but Gideon and Zed had not. There was laughter in the beginning of the movie and tears at the end.
