Working Toward Completion

The audiobook I have been listening to is finished!  That means I am only in the middle of four books instead of five.  Yay!  Other happy things from today:

  • The only good thing that I know of as a result of covid is the willingness for medical professionals to have appointments via video calling.  This obviously isn't always practical, but when it is, I am here for it.  That is right! Right here, sitting on my bed or at my desk or wherever, and having a medical appointment.
  • Day two of the A&S 100 day challenge is done.  I got about 23 inches braided on what might someday become a braided rug.  This is another project that was started over 40 years ago.  This challenge has inspired me to add my unfinished projects to my bucket list.
That is about 15 minutes of braiding.

Currently listening to: The Autobiography of Santa Claus, as told to Jeff Guinn.
    Finished!!  Most of the book I enjoyed.  Like many historical fictions there are places and times that seem a little far fetched.

Thankful Wednesday

It is the last day of August. I'm tired of the heat of summer and looking forward to September weather. I'm thankful for the seasons and the changes that they bring. Other things I am thankful for: When I let a supervisor at work know the job I was doing was making me feel ill, they switched where I was. Sometimes, packages coming at me fast along the rollers give me an upset stomach. Today I was at the fastest area and it didn't go well. So I'm thankful they moved me. There is a possibility that I will have more help with weaving. I'm very thankful for this. I finished the first pattern on the weaving, crossed fencing swords. I'm hopeful that at least some of the pieces will be ready before the event.  I'm thankful that I am remembering how to weave and some little tricks are coming back to me. ☮ I'm going to try to get back into the habit of listing what I am reading... Peaches

Snow Sounds

 When I don't work and my schedule adjusts to daytime, I often stay snuggled in bed doing things on my phone. This morning it was snowing outside. I can hear the cars go by. I can tell when the roads are wet. Right now (around 8 AM) I can tell that some snow is staying on the roads and under tires, at least in some spots. There is a muffled crunching sort of sound the tires make when rolling over snow. And yet there isn't. I realize that the crunching was a slower vehicle, probably on the side of the road, turning, or driveway. Most cars are traveling at a reasonable speed, the snow is most likely blowing to the sides, lightweight. The sound is still muffled slightly which tells me that the snow is falling.  Other happy things for today: Day 5: Today the A&S challenge is not an unfinished project.  I found my lucet so I decided to refresh my memory on how to do a lucet braid.
