Another Gideon Party

 Since it is another late night for me I'm going to try to make this short and fast.  Here are some happy things for today:

  • Out walking Aesop, our dog, this morning the view was lovely.  There was something about the clear air and clouds...



  • There was a birthday party for Gideon today in Massachusetts with his friends.  They played and decorated cookies.



  • Towards the end I went for a short walk.  It was great to see people, but I guess i am not ready to see people for very long yet.  I found a nice trail that I hope to explore more another time.



  • For the 35th day of the A&S challenge I did another row on the latch hook.  I'm looking forward to finishing this.

Snow Sounds

 When I don't work and my schedule adjusts to daytime, I often stay snuggled in bed doing things on my phone. This morning it was snowing outside. I can hear the cars go by. I can tell when the roads are wet. Right now (around 8 AM) I can tell that some snow is staying on the roads and under tires, at least in some spots. There is a muffled crunching sort of sound the tires make when rolling over snow. And yet there isn't. I realize that the crunching was a slower vehicle, probably on the side of the road, turning, or driveway. Most cars are traveling at a reasonable speed, the snow is most likely blowing to the sides, lightweight. The sound is still muffled slightly which tells me that the snow is falling.  Other happy things for today: Day 5: Today the A&S challenge is not an unfinished project.  I found my lucet so I decided to refresh my memory on how to do a lucet braid. Weaving Wednesday

 It is the day I managed to dub Weaving Wednesday as part of the 100 day challenge.  I pulled out the loom I have been working on and was reminded that I broke a warp thread last week.  My attempt at fixing this problem managed to completely mess up the tension to a point that I didn't want to deal with today.  It was still Weaving Wednesday so I pulled out another loom.  This one I couldn't find the pattern for so I made a new one.  It took me quite a while to find where I was on the weaving itself.  Eventually I was able to get one of the repeating patterns complete.   Yay!  I also wrote notes so that I should be able to work on this again without as much trouble.  Other happy things for today: Work was good.  I was across from someone that gave me lots of pointers on using the radios and what the people up the chain want.  Someone else did an audit on me and we ended up talking about different things I could be learnin...

Thankful Wednesday

It is the last day of August. I'm tired of the heat of summer and looking forward to September weather. I'm thankful for the seasons and the changes that they bring. Other things I am thankful for: When I let a supervisor at work know the job I was doing was making me feel ill, they switched where I was. Sometimes, packages coming at me fast along the rollers give me an upset stomach. Today I was at the fastest area and it didn't go well. So I'm thankful they moved me. There is a possibility that I will have more help with weaving. I'm very thankful for this. I finished the first pattern on the weaving, crossed fencing swords. I'm hopeful that at least some of the pieces will be ready before the event.  I'm thankful that I am remembering how to weave and some little tricks are coming back to me. ☮ I'm going to try to get back into the habit of listing what I am reading...
