Reading

This morning I finished reading Faith Hacker, by Jim Wilcox.  After finishing this book I contemplated many things, one was writing a review.  I decided not to, although I will put something below here on my blog.  I decided to update my Goodreads and I found a few things that I had forgotten to update and say that I was finished and one that I hadn't entered that I started.  The result is that I am in the middle of five books currently.  One of them is a daily reader with meditations and perhaps shouldn't count.  Anyhow, five books and yet I started looking for other books to read.  Thankfully I stopped myself.  In the last two months I have already added three more books that I haven't started yet.  That said, I like having paper, audio, and digital choices at the same time.  I also like having fiction and non-fiction at the same time.  These allow me to choose depending on my mood or time constraints.  Non-fiction tends to be broken into smaller parts when my time for reading is limited.  For finishing another book, yay!  Other happy things for today:

  • A friend came by so I could see that the tunic I made for him fit.  It did!  After that we went for a walk to the Oak Hill Fire Tower and to Geocache.  He found two caches and I found one.  One of the caches was frozen and will need to be revisited in spring.  We also climbed the stairs to the top of the fire tower.  The visibility was really good.
Me and a mushroom tree.

  • After I had a nice visit with my friend, Amy.  We were going to walk too but decided to stay at the studio, talk, and craft.
  • For day 41 of the A&S challenge I finished making the peace sign button and I did handstitching on the tunic.

  • After all that I got to play Minecraft with TF tonignt!

Currently reading: Pocketful of Miracles: Prayer, Meditations, and Affirmations to Nurture Your Spirit Every Day of the Year, Joan Borysenko.

Finished reading: Faith Hacker, by James ‘Jim’ Wilcox.

Full disclosure-I know the author.
The book offers a challenge in the beginning. It was not a challenge that I was up for. I enjoyed the read and I don't think that was just because I know the author and their (they're fits here too) family. I am not a computer geek and some of the terminology was new to me, this did not detract from the story for me. For information on the story itself, please see the official write-up. The end of the story left me a little wanting. Even though it was mentioned again, it took me a few minutes to realize the challenge is most likely what I was missing. I re-read the challenge from the beginning of the book and I am still not up for that challenge. That said, I want to discuss the book with others, with varying backgrounds, who have read it.  I may gift it to Zed.

Thank you for being part of my happy things. Stay safe.
