Friday!


Gift giving has never been something I have been strong at. Every once in a while though I come up with something. Today I stood in line at the post office for quite a while to send a small package to a dear friend. Hopefully there will be no fitting or allergy problems and they will like it. For now, I am happy to have thought of something and acted on it.  Other happy things from today:

  • Gideon and I went out for a nice walk.  The weather was beautiful, t-shirt weather.  We passed some kind of tree that had some good sized buds on it.  The ice is melting on the little pond we walked by.



  • There is a huge gorgeous sycamore tree that I asked Keziah to stand in front of for size.  I've been meaning to take a picture of it for weeks, today I remembered!  

  • Cat pets!

  • We spent a bunch of time at the studio.  I wanted to work on the hat but lacked the space since Gideon was doing school work.  Instead I braided for the someday rug.  Day 75 of the A&S challenge is done.  I am three-quarters of the way to the end of the challenge.

Here are some happy things from this beautiful autumn Sunday: Gideon sat by me while I was eating breakfast with a Mad Libs booklet, ready to play. How could I say no? Much giggling and laughter ensued when the character in the story had to save themself from quicksand with a 25 foot long piece of paper. When I am out for a walk and crossing a street I try to nod or wave at the drivers that let me pass. Today I chose to use my earbuds and listen to the book Keziah had recommended,  The Raven Boys, while I walked. I notice a car has stopped to let me by and I wave and see that they are waving me on excitedly. I didn't think much of it other than to try to move a little faster. They pull away and I notice as they drive by that it was Keziah, she stopped to pick me up and I just walked on by! She called a moment after I figured this out. Negative

Although it wasn't required, I went to CVS today and had the rapid Covid test. As suspected, it was negative. Since I am flying tomorrow, I felt better making sure.  Other happy things for today: While waiting for the nurse to do all the things a nurse does to prepare for administering a covid test, I noticed something crawling on her neck at the hairline. It was a tick. I took it off her, it hadn’t bitten yet. She was very grateful. I was glad to help. With Keziah’s help, my hair is now colored purple. The picture is before I cleaned off my forehead and my hair was still very wet.  It seems dark... I’m mostly packed and I leave tomorrow. I’ll only be gone a few days. Plumbing

Plumbing problems are frustrating. I'm pretty sure I have done everything right but things are still leaking. But that is not a happy thing, but the following are: Keziah and Gideon put up a fence for Aesop.  He seems to love it in his large fenced area where he can run. On the walk this morning before the rains came I saw some horse hoof prints.   I'm ending the day with a large bowl of ice cream. Through all the trials and frustrations and lack of hot water in the kitchen, and now the house, the family has supported my attempts at fixing it all and don't understand why what I have done hasn't worked. ☮ Currently reading: Pocketful of Miracles: Prayer, Meditations, and Affirmations to Nurture Your Spirit Every Day of the Year , Joan Borysenko.
