Gardening

 Last night I dreamed about gardening.  There were piles of  warm dirt and it felt good.  So today I rearranged the geraniums, repotted some of them, and planted some marigold seeds.  It was much nicer than just watering the plants.  

I'm so happy that some of the plants are
coming back from being food for the cellar critter.

Other happy things from today:

  • In the afternoon I met a friend and we walked the mall.  We intended to walk outside at a park but it started to rain.  The mall makes a great alternative when the weather is wet.  
  • It is raining, not snowing.  We are a little closer to spring and mud season seems to have 'sunk' in.
  • It is the 64th day of the A&S challenge.  Today I did a little bit of embroidery.  When I couldn't locate the scissors easily, I found a kumihimo cord I must have started a few years ago.  I only got so far as to untangle and organize the threads.  I'll have to refresh my memory as to the pattern I was working on before I restart the project.

Thankful Wednesday

It is the last day of August. I'm tired of the heat of summer and looking forward to September weather. I'm thankful for the seasons and the changes that they bring. Other things I am thankful for: When I let a supervisor at work know the job I was doing was making me feel ill, they switched where I was. Sometimes, packages coming at me fast along the rollers give me an upset stomach. Today I was at the fastest area and it didn't go well. So I'm thankful they moved me. There is a possibility that I will have more help with weaving. I'm very thankful for this. I finished the first pattern on the weaving, crossed fencing swords. I'm hopeful that at least some of the pieces will be ready before the event.  I'm thankful that I am remembering how to weave and some little tricks are coming back to me. ☮ I'm going to try to get back into the habit of listing what I am reading... Peaches

Snow Sounds

 When I don't work and my schedule adjusts to daytime, I often stay snuggled in bed doing things on my phone. This morning it was snowing outside. I can hear the cars go by. I can tell when the roads are wet. Right now (around 8 AM) I can tell that some snow is staying on the roads and under tires, at least in some spots. There is a muffled crunching sort of sound the tires make when rolling over snow. And yet there isn't. I realize that the crunching was a slower vehicle, probably on the side of the road, turning, or driveway. Most cars are traveling at a reasonable speed, the snow is most likely blowing to the sides, lightweight. The sound is still muffled slightly which tells me that the snow is falling.  Other happy things for today: Day 5: Today the A&S challenge is not an unfinished project.  I found my lucet so I decided to refresh my memory on how to do a lucet braid.
