Happy Pi Day

 Waking up this morning I thought it would be a great day.  It wasn't bad, but some mistakes were made.  Thankfully they all became learning experiences.  Learning experiences and other happy things from today:

  • My first mistake was not communicating with Keziah well on timing.  The goal for me was to arrive at Joann's when they opened, timing put me there about twenty minutes early.  The good part of this was that I got to wander around the city for a little bit before doing my little bit of shopping.   It was a nice walk to the studio from Joann's.
  • Setting off right away to get some sewing done I realized, too late, that I just purchased the wrong interfacing.  It is what it is.  I used it as best I could and got a good start on my project.  It also counts as my 71 day of the A&S challenge.
That is my project so far.
  • No mistakes in the afternoon.  I went for a walk with my friend, Amy.   I didn't have any pie today, bute we did walk around in circles for three miles.  There were ducks and geese.

Peaches

Snow Sounds

 When I don't work and my schedule adjusts to daytime, I often stay snuggled in bed doing things on my phone. This morning it was snowing outside. I can hear the cars go by. I can tell when the roads are wet. Right now (around 8 AM) I can tell that some snow is staying on the roads and under tires, at least in some spots. There is a muffled crunching sort of sound the tires make when rolling over snow. And yet there isn't. I realize that the crunching was a slower vehicle, probably on the side of the road, turning, or driveway. Most cars are traveling at a reasonable speed, the snow is most likely blowing to the sides, lightweight. The sound is still muffled slightly which tells me that the snow is falling.  Other happy things for today: Day 5: Today the A&S challenge is not an unfinished project.  I found my lucet so I decided to refresh my memory on how to do a lucet braid. Weaving Day

My grandson, Gideon, has been trying to learn magic tricks with cards. He struggles with the slight of hand, and knows it. I admire that he is trying. He also tries to invent new card games. Other happy things from today: My friend, Amy, had a craft afternoon at her house today for just a few people. Most of us had weaving projects. I didn't get as much done as I wanted, but made some good progress on my loom. It was also good to spend time with friends.  Later, at home the family had leftovers from Thanksgiving, including pie for dessert. The pies are almost gone and I have enjoyed them while we've had them.  We also watched a movie together. Spider-Man: No Way Home was a really good movie that Keziah and I had seen, but Gideon and Zed had not. There was laughter in the beginning of the movie and tears at the end.
