Thursday

Last week I wrote of my intention to remove things from my life during Lent.  The goal is seven items a week.  I'm trying to be flexible and forgiving with myself this year since I have less available time.  It was my hope to get my desk cleaned off and I figured I could easily find seven things.  This is where the flexible and forgiving part comes in.

Before

As I filled up a shopping bag with trash and another with recycling I realized that I am just not comfortable counting individual pieces of trash.  But, some trash does count.  My seven things for this week:
  1. A bag of recycling
  2. A bag of trash
  3. An old pen that I am throwing away.  Why am I counting this as separate?  I have been holding onto this pen because it is cute and I want it to work.  I couldn't make it work and it is silly to hold onto it so it is in the trash.
  4. One pair of shoulder pads that I was holding onto in case I ever needed shoulder pads??  I'm donating them.
  5. I'm also donating a tank top that is cute, but never really fit me well.  It was on the desk.
  6. There was also a headband on the desk that I think was for a child sized head.  Donate.
  7. A set of multiplication flash cards that are going to Gideon.  I expect he will use them for about a week and then they will also be donated.
Cute little pen.

After.

The desk still needs work, but the energy limit for that type of thing was reached.  That is a bunch of small happy things.

Another happy for today is reaching day 66 of the A&S challenge.  I chose te embroider.

Currently reading: Pocketful of Miracles: Prayer, Meditations, and Affirmations to Nurture Your Spirit Every Day of the Year, Joan Borysenko.

And  Tracking & The Art of Seeing: How to Read Animal Tracks and Sign, by Paul Rezendes.

Thank you for being part of my happy things. Stay safe.
