Plans Washed Away

This morning I did some dishes before sitting down for breakfast. After eating I went to put my dirty dish into the sink and noticed way too much water on the floor for the dishes I had done. In fact, it was more like how much water there would be if someone had tried to bathe a German shepherd in the sink… or something leaking. And so my day of crafting, taxes, and walking with my friend was drowned. What could have been me just getting the parts became other errands as well. When I finally got the pieces put back together, it didn't all fit and I went back to the store.. Did you know that when pipes say they are 1.5 inches that is the size of the hole and has nothing to do with the outside size of the pipe where things actually go together? I did. Did I remember this? Of course not. The end result is that after another trip for another part it is working again. Yay me!! Clean up is for the rest of the family. Other happy things:


  • Despite the time consuming plumbing emergency my DuoLingo, reading, and steps as well as a craft all got done.
  • Day 99 of the 100 Days of A&S Challenge and I embroidered. Keziah wanted me to call all the plumbing I did as my time, but it just didn't seem right. One more day!!!!

Peaches

Snow Sounds

 When I don't work and my schedule adjusts to daytime, I often stay snuggled in bed doing things on my phone. This morning it was snowing outside. I can hear the cars go by. I can tell when the roads are wet. Right now (around 8 AM) I can tell that some snow is staying on the roads and under tires, at least in some spots. There is a muffled crunching sort of sound the tires make when rolling over snow. And yet there isn't. I realize that the crunching was a slower vehicle, probably on the side of the road, turning, or driveway. Most cars are traveling at a reasonable speed, the snow is most likely blowing to the sides, lightweight. The sound is still muffled slightly which tells me that the snow is falling.  Other happy things for today: Day 5: Today the A&S challenge is not an unfinished project.  I found my lucet so I decided to refresh my memory on how to do a lucet braid. Weaving Day

My grandson, Gideon, has been trying to learn magic tricks with cards. He struggles with the slight of hand, and knows it. I admire that he is trying. He also tries to invent new card games. Other happy things from today: My friend, Amy, had a craft afternoon at her house today for just a few people. Most of us had weaving projects. I didn't get as much done as I wanted, but made some good progress on my loom. It was also good to spend time with friends.  Later, at home the family had leftovers from Thanksgiving, including pie for dessert. The pies are almost gone and I have enjoyed them while we've had them.  We also watched a movie together. Spider-Man: No Way Home was a really good movie that Keziah and I had seen, but Gideon and Zed had not. There was laughter in the beginning of the movie and tears at the end.
