Tools

Sometimes, what is needed to get a job done are the right tools. During this whole sink, faucet, plumbing fiasco one thing that I realized over and over was the importance of tools. This plumbing problem had gone on long enough. First the drain, then the shut off valve, then the faucet needing to be replaced. The faucet was rusted together and the WD 40 didn't help to loosen the screw holding the faucet to the sink enough. So I pulled out the big tools-power. I pulled out the skill saw and with Zed's help sawed off the faucet. We now have a shiny new working faucet. 💪




With the plumbing problem no longer draining my time and energy, I went outside to check on the spring plants. The daffodils and tulips should be blooming soon. If they don’t open before I leave for Texas in two days, I will be bugging my daughter, Keziah, for pictures.  The daffodils came with the house, but the tulips and other plants that are in the triangle of the driveway I planted last year and the year before.  I'm excited to see them grow and expand.




Those are my happy things for today, tools, a new faucet, and flowers getting ready to bloom. I hope that you, reader, have wonderful things to be happy about today too.

Peaches

Snow Sounds

 When I don't work and my schedule adjusts to daytime, I often stay snuggled in bed doing things on my phone. This morning it was snowing outside. I can hear the cars go by. I can tell when the roads are wet. Right now (around 8 AM) I can tell that some snow is staying on the roads and under tires, at least in some spots. There is a muffled crunching sort of sound the tires make when rolling over snow. And yet there isn't. I realize that the crunching was a slower vehicle, probably on the side of the road, turning, or driveway. Most cars are traveling at a reasonable speed, the snow is most likely blowing to the sides, lightweight. The sound is still muffled slightly which tells me that the snow is falling.  Other happy things for today: Day 5: Today the A&S challenge is not an unfinished project.  I found my lucet so I decided to refresh my memory on how to do a lucet braid. Weaving Day

My grandson, Gideon, has been trying to learn magic tricks with cards. He struggles with the slight of hand, and knows it. I admire that he is trying. He also tries to invent new card games. Other happy things from today: My friend, Amy, had a craft afternoon at her house today for just a few people. Most of us had weaving projects. I didn't get as much done as I wanted, but made some good progress on my loom. It was also good to spend time with friends.  Later, at home the family had leftovers from Thanksgiving, including pie for dessert. The pies are almost gone and I have enjoyed them while we've had them.  We also watched a movie together. Spider-Man: No Way Home was a really good movie that Keziah and I had seen, but Gideon and Zed had not. There was laughter in the beginning of the movie and tears at the end.
