Flowers

 Friday!  I could just have that as my happy thing and be done.  Since I don't work on Friday I took the dog for a walk to help me get my steps.  Along the walk I noticed, not for the first time, some flowers that are pretty.  This time I took a picture and learned that they are a variety of dianthus.  There is still more for me to learn about them but it may be something else to plant in the triangle part of the driveway.


Other happy things from today:

  • I chose to wear pink today in hopes that it would help me have a good day.  It wasn't a horrible day, so I'm calling that a win.  Pink heart socks!


  • It was Minecraft night but I was again too tired to play.  TF and I did get into the game for a little bit so she could show me what she has been working on.  She made a big Mayan style pyramid.  It looks really cool.  We still have to figure out what to put on the inside.

Peaches

Snow Sounds

 When I don't work and my schedule adjusts to daytime, I often stay snuggled in bed doing things on my phone. This morning it was snowing outside. I can hear the cars go by. I can tell when the roads are wet. Right now (around 8 AM) I can tell that some snow is staying on the roads and under tires, at least in some spots. There is a muffled crunching sort of sound the tires make when rolling over snow. And yet there isn't. I realize that the crunching was a slower vehicle, probably on the side of the road, turning, or driveway. Most cars are traveling at a reasonable speed, the snow is most likely blowing to the sides, lightweight. The sound is still muffled slightly which tells me that the snow is falling.  Other happy things for today: Day 5: Today the A&S challenge is not an unfinished project.  I found my lucet so I decided to refresh my memory on how to do a lucet braid. Weaving Day

My grandson, Gideon, has been trying to learn magic tricks with cards. He struggles with the slight of hand, and knows it. I admire that he is trying. He also tries to invent new card games. Other happy things from today: My friend, Amy, had a craft afternoon at her house today for just a few people. Most of us had weaving projects. I didn't get as much done as I wanted, but made some good progress on my loom. It was also good to spend time with friends.  Later, at home the family had leftovers from Thanksgiving, including pie for dessert. The pies are almost gone and I have enjoyed them while we've had them.  We also watched a movie together. Spider-Man: No Way Home was a really good movie that Keziah and I had seen, but Gideon and Zed had not. There was laughter in the beginning of the movie and tears at the end.
