It Was a Good Day

The family and a friend all went to the local Farmer's Market this morning. Aesop, our dog, went too. There is also a new restaurant that they have wanted to try so we took two cars and traveled in teams. Keziah, our friend, and I were one team, Gideon and Zed the other. The first part of the time Gideon and Zed walked the market with Aesop and the rest of us went to the new restaurant. The second part they went to the restaurant and we had Aesop. There tend to be a lot of dogs at the Farmer's Market.  We divided and conquered!  Here are some happy things from today:

  • The new restaurant has some gluten free options and so I got some avocado toast that had vegan cream cheese, some greens and was tasty. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered.  Instead of getting the customer name or using numbers for ordering, customers were given a celebrity such as Elizabeth Taylor or Lupita Nyong'o that was called out when the order was ready.  It was a fun atmosphere.

  • The bathroom at the restaurant had chalkboard paint walls and some chalk. I did something I never thought I would and took pictures of some of the bathroom walls.  If I go again I might write on the wall too.

  • Outside that restaurant there is a walkway that I believe the city (could be the local shops) tends to decorate.  It is currently filled with hanging umbrellas.  It is a whimsical part of the city.

  • After the morning at the Farmer's Market, I met friends for a walk at Benson's Park which many years ago was a wild animal farm.  We roamed along the perimeter of the park, through the woods.  It was very busy today so we took the trails less traveled.

There is a woodpecker in this picture.
  • In the morning we came across what seems to be an orange azalea that was in full bloom and completely gorgeous.

Thank you for being part of my happy things. Stay safe.
