Rain, Rain

There was a challenge I accepted on the Map My Run app to use the app for a walk or run every day in the month of July.  I started to regret that decision when the rain started to fall after work.  It was a gentle rain and the temperature was not cold so instead, I remembered that it can be nice to walk in the rain, sometimes.  When I got home from the walk, I roamed the yard looking for new things to see and write about.  Here are some of those happy things:

  • Raspberry season is upon us.  There is a wild variety scattered about the property.  I picked two that seemed ripe and Gideon and I each had one.  They were okay, not overly flavorful in my opinion, but not bad.

  • The scarlet bee balm in the yard seems to only hold on to the smallest droplets of rain.

  • The lily however was collecting the rain in places with large droplets.

  • The spruce tree is looking a little colorful as the new branches grow from the old in a different color.

Thank you for being part of my happy things. Stay safe.
