Pennsic Day 10

This was to be my war to relax when I can.  Today, I took my time getting ready for the day.  I got ice and water for the encampment and then relaxed with a book.  I was gifted a few books last winter from my niece and chose one to bring.  So far,  I'm enjoying it.  Other happy things from today:
--I walk through the Arts and Sciences Display.  It was a quick walk through and then I needed water.  I ran into Zed and we went back to the A&S Display and I got a different experience.   Being introverted, I don't always ask questions,  Zed did.  Some things I learned about were acid etching metal, using horse tail hair to make fishing line, and carving antlers to create tools for stamping into pottery.

--Some of the cloud formations here are amazing.  
--Every Pennsic I try to attend the performances by i Sebastiani.   A few years ago I performed with them.  As usual, their show was well done and funny.  I totally forgot to take a picture.

Peaches

Snow Sounds

 When I don't work and my schedule adjusts to daytime, I often stay snuggled in bed doing things on my phone. This morning it was snowing outside. I can hear the cars go by. I can tell when the roads are wet. Right now (around 8 AM) I can tell that some snow is staying on the roads and under tires, at least in some spots. There is a muffled crunching sort of sound the tires make when rolling over snow. And yet there isn't. I realize that the crunching was a slower vehicle, probably on the side of the road, turning, or driveway. Most cars are traveling at a reasonable speed, the snow is most likely blowing to the sides, lightweight. The sound is still muffled slightly which tells me that the snow is falling.  Other happy things for today: Day 5: Today the A&S challenge is not an unfinished project.  I found my lucet so I decided to refresh my memory on how to do a lucet braid. Weaving Day

My grandson, Gideon, has been trying to learn magic tricks with cards. He struggles with the slight of hand, and knows it. I admire that he is trying. He also tries to invent new card games. Other happy things from today: My friend, Amy, had a craft afternoon at her house today for just a few people. Most of us had weaving projects. I didn't get as much done as I wanted, but made some good progress on my loom. It was also good to spend time with friends.  Later, at home the family had leftovers from Thanksgiving, including pie for dessert. The pies are almost gone and I have enjoyed them while we've had them.  We also watched a movie together. Spider-Man: No Way Home was a really good movie that Keziah and I had seen, but Gideon and Zed had not. There was laughter in the beginning of the movie and tears at the end.
