Pennsic Day 11

As part of my low key Pennsic I stuck around camp most of the day.  I visited with people, read, and had a nap.  These are all good things.  Other happy things from today include:
--I remembered to buy ice and milk today.  Sometimes the little things can mean a lot. 
--Some of the awards in the SCA revolve around the Arts and Sciences community.  Today I got to learn some of the inner workings and requirements that should be met before receiving some of these awards.  It was interesting.
--The household (Runnymede) that the Baronial heads belong to met tonight.  There was business that we attended to.  It was nice to see everyone and when we all seemed to agree on the business at hand.

--There was a bunch of heat lightening that was beautiful and I tried to catch some in pictures.

Peaches

Snow Sounds

 When I don't work and my schedule adjusts to daytime, I often stay snuggled in bed doing things on my phone. This morning it was snowing outside. I can hear the cars go by. I can tell when the roads are wet. Right now (around 8 AM) I can tell that some snow is staying on the roads and under tires, at least in some spots. There is a muffled crunching sort of sound the tires make when rolling over snow. And yet there isn't. I realize that the crunching was a slower vehicle, probably on the side of the road, turning, or driveway. Most cars are traveling at a reasonable speed, the snow is most likely blowing to the sides, lightweight. The sound is still muffled slightly which tells me that the snow is falling.  Other happy things for today: Day 5: Today the A&S challenge is not an unfinished project.  I found my lucet so I decided to refresh my memory on how to do a lucet braid. Weaving Day

My grandson, Gideon, has been trying to learn magic tricks with cards. He struggles with the slight of hand, and knows it. I admire that he is trying. He also tries to invent new card games. Other happy things from today: My friend, Amy, had a craft afternoon at her house today for just a few people. Most of us had weaving projects. I didn't get as much done as I wanted, but made some good progress on my loom. It was also good to spend time with friends.  Later, at home the family had leftovers from Thanksgiving, including pie for dessert. The pies are almost gone and I have enjoyed them while we've had them.  We also watched a movie together. Spider-Man: No Way Home was a really good movie that Keziah and I had seen, but Gideon and Zed had not. There was laughter in the beginning of the movie and tears at the end.
