Pennsic Day 12

Before leaving for the two and a half hour court tonight I told Keziah that she may need to poke me to stay awake. 

 This turned out to not be a problem when I was reminded of how uncomfortable the throwns were.  Thankfully court, though longer than three hours, was enjoyable.  Happy things from today include:
--It was my last day to relax.  Tomorrow I'll be busy most of the day.
--Gideon has been really enjoying youth fighting.  He was telling me about it when I took this picture. 

--Court was long, but being able to see people be elevated or awarded is always good.

--It got dark during court which made it hard to see the awards going out.  I did my best to get a picture of the scroll Keziah made.

--It was really nice to get back from court to find a campfire.  Gideon had put Campfire Colors in the fire earlier on and greens and purples kept flaring up.

Snow Sounds

 When I don't work and my schedule adjusts to daytime, I often stay snuggled in bed doing things on my phone. This morning it was snowing outside. I can hear the cars go by. I can tell when the roads are wet. Right now (around 8 AM) I can tell that some snow is staying on the roads and under tires, at least in some spots. There is a muffled crunching sort of sound the tires make when rolling over snow. And yet there isn't. I realize that the crunching was a slower vehicle, probably on the side of the road, turning, or driveway. Most cars are traveling at a reasonable speed, the snow is most likely blowing to the sides, lightweight. The sound is still muffled slightly which tells me that the snow is falling.  Other happy things for today: Day 5: Today the A&S challenge is not an unfinished project.  I found my lucet so I decided to refresh my memory on how to do a lucet braid. Weaving Day

My grandson, Gideon, has been trying to learn magic tricks with cards. He struggles with the slight of hand, and knows it. I admire that he is trying. He also tries to invent new card games. Other happy things from today: My friend, Amy, had a craft afternoon at her house today for just a few people. Most of us had weaving projects. I didn't get as much done as I wanted, but made some good progress on my loom. It was also good to spend time with friends.  Later, at home the family had leftovers from Thanksgiving, including pie for dessert. The pies are almost gone and I have enjoyed them while we've had them.  We also watched a movie together. Spider-Man: No Way Home was a really good movie that Keziah and I had seen, but Gideon and Zed had not. There was laughter in the beginning of the movie and tears at the end.
