Pennsic Day 6

The big thing I did today at Pennsic involved volunteering with setting up the East Kingdom Royal Area.  I helped move things, put things together, and sort things.   Along the outside of the area they use sheet walls that have the coat of arms for the groups within the Kingdom.  They were being laid on the ground for sorting.  The first one I picked up turned out to be my Barony's!  I'm not sure what the chances are of that but it surprised me.  For being there and helping we were give a pin as a thank you. 


 Other happy things from today include:

-- While shopping with Keziah I found a new Pelican medallion.  The Pelican is a service award.  
--it was a hot day with temperatures hovering around 90 degrees.  In the afternoon I tried to take a nap.  It was real nice to be able to relax in the heat of the day.
--One of the things that got set up at EK Royal was a unicorn that is a sprinkler.  The kids love to play under there on hot days.  Keziah does too.

Peaches

Snow Sounds

 When I don't work and my schedule adjusts to daytime, I often stay snuggled in bed doing things on my phone. This morning it was snowing outside. I can hear the cars go by. I can tell when the roads are wet. Right now (around 8 AM) I can tell that some snow is staying on the roads and under tires, at least in some spots. There is a muffled crunching sort of sound the tires make when rolling over snow. And yet there isn't. I realize that the crunching was a slower vehicle, probably on the side of the road, turning, or driveway. Most cars are traveling at a reasonable speed, the snow is most likely blowing to the sides, lightweight. The sound is still muffled slightly which tells me that the snow is falling.  Other happy things for today: Day 5: Today the A&S challenge is not an unfinished project.  I found my lucet so I decided to refresh my memory on how to do a lucet braid. Weaving Day

My grandson, Gideon, has been trying to learn magic tricks with cards. He struggles with the slight of hand, and knows it. I admire that he is trying. He also tries to invent new card games. Other happy things from today: My friend, Amy, had a craft afternoon at her house today for just a few people. Most of us had weaving projects. I didn't get as much done as I wanted, but made some good progress on my loom. It was also good to spend time with friends.  Later, at home the family had leftovers from Thanksgiving, including pie for dessert. The pies are almost gone and I have enjoyed them while we've had them.  We also watched a movie together. Spider-Man: No Way Home was a really good movie that Keziah and I had seen, but Gideon and Zed had not. There was laughter in the beginning of the movie and tears at the end.
