Happy Birthday Keziah

Today is Keziah's birthday. Keziah, Zed, Gideon, our friend from the studio and I celebrated by going out to dinner at a local restaurant. The food was very good but I loved my dessert of caramel apple crumble with ice cream. It was delicious. Other happy things for today:

  • Outside the restaurant there was a morning glory. It appeared that the vine it clung to had already turned mostly brown, the flower was lovely though.


  • TF called while we were eating. She asked to sing to Keziah for her birthday. There is a really nice, not-the-traditional, birthday song that TF sings and we love to hear it.
  • One of the things I like about Facebook is looking at the memories when they pop up. One of the memories today that makes me happy is remembering going to the MET Cloisters a few years ago for Keziah’s birthday with a friend whose birthday is the day before Keziah’s.  Hm, I wonder when we can do that again...

Peaches

Snow Sounds

 When I don't work and my schedule adjusts to daytime, I often stay snuggled in bed doing things on my phone. This morning it was snowing outside. I can hear the cars go by. I can tell when the roads are wet. Right now (around 8 AM) I can tell that some snow is staying on the roads and under tires, at least in some spots. There is a muffled crunching sort of sound the tires make when rolling over snow. And yet there isn't. I realize that the crunching was a slower vehicle, probably on the side of the road, turning, or driveway. Most cars are traveling at a reasonable speed, the snow is most likely blowing to the sides, lightweight. The sound is still muffled slightly which tells me that the snow is falling.  Other happy things for today: Day 5: Today the A&S challenge is not an unfinished project.  I found my lucet so I decided to refresh my memory on how to do a lucet braid. Weaving Day

My grandson, Gideon, has been trying to learn magic tricks with cards. He struggles with the slight of hand, and knows it. I admire that he is trying. He also tries to invent new card games. Other happy things from today: My friend, Amy, had a craft afternoon at her house today for just a few people. Most of us had weaving projects. I didn't get as much done as I wanted, but made some good progress on my loom. It was also good to spend time with friends.  Later, at home the family had leftovers from Thanksgiving, including pie for dessert. The pies are almost gone and I have enjoyed them while we've had them.  We also watched a movie together. Spider-Man: No Way Home was a really good movie that Keziah and I had seen, but Gideon and Zed had not. There was laughter in the beginning of the movie and tears at the end.
