Busy Day

My breakfast movie today (I get up early on Monday's) was finishing Father Christmas Is Back. I'm not in love with any of the movies I've been watching. They have happy endings though, and that is what counts.  Other happy things from today:

  • Gideon and I walked together to the studio from a local restaurant. I thought the walk was only one mile, but it was two. We walked by the planetarium and some of the planets they have displayed on the solar system walk. Last time I did this walk I only found Pluto and Neptune. Today we found Uranus too!

  • We also walked near a pond that seemed to have a layer of ice on it. It was pretty.

  • Someone has decorated a tree that hangs over the sidewalk near the studio.  


  • At the studio, I came close to finishing the backing on my latch hook, maybe next time.

  • Keziah and I also glazed some pottery. I didn't take any pictures but there isn't much to see once the pieces are covered with glaze.  Unless I enroll in another class, this will be the end of pottery for me.  I'm undecided about taking the class again.

Peaches

Snow Sounds

 When I don't work and my schedule adjusts to daytime, I often stay snuggled in bed doing things on my phone. This morning it was snowing outside. I can hear the cars go by. I can tell when the roads are wet. Right now (around 8 AM) I can tell that some snow is staying on the roads and under tires, at least in some spots. There is a muffled crunching sort of sound the tires make when rolling over snow. And yet there isn't. I realize that the crunching was a slower vehicle, probably on the side of the road, turning, or driveway. Most cars are traveling at a reasonable speed, the snow is most likely blowing to the sides, lightweight. The sound is still muffled slightly which tells me that the snow is falling.  Other happy things for today: Day 5: Today the A&S challenge is not an unfinished project.  I found my lucet so I decided to refresh my memory on how to do a lucet braid. Weaving Day

My grandson, Gideon, has been trying to learn magic tricks with cards. He struggles with the slight of hand, and knows it. I admire that he is trying. He also tries to invent new card games. Other happy things from today: My friend, Amy, had a craft afternoon at her house today for just a few people. Most of us had weaving projects. I didn't get as much done as I wanted, but made some good progress on my loom. It was also good to spend time with friends.  Later, at home the family had leftovers from Thanksgiving, including pie for dessert. The pies are almost gone and I have enjoyed them while we've had them.  We also watched a movie together. Spider-Man: No Way Home was a really good movie that Keziah and I had seen, but Gideon and Zed had not. There was laughter in the beginning of the movie and tears at the end.
