While the Dog is Away...

Keziah and I had a two hour SCA Zoom meeting this morning.  The best thing about this was working on a puzzle while we listened.  The puzzle has been sitting up on the shelf calling to me for days so I was very happy to bring it down and put more of it together today.  Other happy things for today: 

  • During the meeting it was mentioned that I want someone to replace me as a regional exchequer.  I'm looking forward to not having that position anymore.  
  • The cats have been having a great weekend.  Aesop, our dog, spent the weekend boarding at the same place he goes for daycare.  This was a trial run to see how he does.  Nanni and Winston have been having a great time while the dog is away.

  • For day 28 of the A&S challenge I did more of the latch hook.  Tomorrow I am hoping to get to the studio.

    I wanted something to listen to while I did the latch hook.  This is a book I started sometime last year or the year before and didn't finish.  Maybe I will this time.

 This year I haven't yet been as good of a steward to the property as last year.  The lawns aren't getting mowed as much, the garden is mostly nonexistent, and I haven't been walking the trails so there really are no trails.  This is me hoping that I will make the time to get outside more to make the yard a place to want to be again.  Here are some happy things from today: I made the trek through the long grass to the wildlife camera.  It had been long enough that I think the SD card was full.  The last clip was from May 20th.  There were only a few that actually had some animals in them and not just the wind blowing.  A few had deer and one a groundhog munching on the grass.  I only briefly went through the clips, it was neat watching as the landscape got more and more green. Pipe Dream

There were balloons at work today. Some people put them in their hair or attached the string to themselves somewhere. Other happy things from today: Bel is here! Bel is visiting for a bit, Folke was not able to come this time. It is wonderful to have both my adult children near me. Keziah and Zed bought a cargo trailer. Suddenly going to events and packing for them just became so much easier. Bel and I got to look at RV trailers while Keziah did paperwork for the trailer. I used to dream of living in an RV and traveling the country. It is fun to look at what RV trailers have to offer. They are more than I can afford to buy, and even harder to take anywhere with gas prices what they are. Walk With a View

 The plan when I left the house was to find somewhere in the city to walk and get some steps in before I went shopping.  The closer I got to the city, the less I wanted to walk through there for a second day in a row.  Instead, I drove beyond the center of Concord, NH to the outskirts and went for a walk in Winant Park.  Pretty much every step of the way I was second guessing my choice.  I was wearing sneakers, not boots or even hiking shoes, just sneakers.  Thankfully, there were enough areas without ice and snow that I was able to get to the overlook and not have to turn around due to slipping.  Here are other happy snippets from my day: Along the trail were what I called little Christmas trees when I was little too.  Some of the names that they are called (according to Lens) are ground pine, princess pine, or rare clubmoss.  Whatever you want to call it, they are a bit of green on a frozen winter day.
