They're Back

The first time I went to California was for Christmas in 1985.  My now ex-husband and I went to spend a week with his family.  It was also the first time I touched the Pacific Ocean, the first time I went swimming on Christmas day, the first Christmas that it was warm enough to swim, and the first time I ever picked a fresh lemon and ate it within five minutes.  It was also the sweetest lemon I have EVER had.  Tonight my daughter gifted me with an orange that she picked while visiting California this week.  It was sweet, juicy, and delicious.  Even the texture was more appealing than any grocery store orange I have had.

Other happy things from today:

  • There was a snow storm today.  Aesop and I went for a short walk this morning with the snow all around.  Snow would accumulate on Aesop and he would look like a freshly powdered dog and then he would shake it off.

Freshly powdered dog.
  • It was a long drive to Boston in the snow but the family is safe and BACK!

  • When I went out to shovel before heading to Boston the snow was light and fluffy.  I decided to pull out the snow thrower.  The snow earlier in the season was much wetter than today.  Today the snow thrower threw the snow.  It isn't perfect, I still had to shovel by the road where the plows leave piles, but I got much more done with less pain using the thrower.
  • For the A&S challenge day 54 I did more weaving.  Little by little I am making progress.
Just three more repeats,
but I wanted to take a long shot.

Thank you for being part of my happy things. Stay safe.
