Crafty Day

Right after I parked my car to go to work I got a notification from the company. They were offering voluntary time off. I decided that I would go to work, since I was there already. I went in and saw that there was hardly any work to do and I (and some others) didn't have an assignment. So I put my name onto a list for voluntary time off. I got an assignment and ten minutes later they replaced me and I was out the door. Other happy things from today:

  • I was able to sleep for about three hours before getting up again for the day. 
  • While the family slept, I got some weaving done. I'm very close to having the first of three champion's pieces done.

  • When the family was up we made cream of wheat and toast and all had breakfast together. 
  • Since I was home and had slept I was able to go to a craft gathering at Joann's with Keziah and see friends. I embroidered three letter D's to put onto favors.  


  • I also finished putting the backing on my cat latch hook. It is finally finished. 



  • Keziah was working on some block printing. She is so talented!  She carves the design and then uses that to print it onto fabric.

Deer, Deer...

 It was a working day so I am going to try to keep this short.  The other day I downloaded the videos from the wildlife camera out back.  I had the chance to watch them today and have uploaded four of them to my YouTube channel.  They will be released today, January 18, 2022 at 8:00 PM.  That said, here are my happy things for today: There were a bunch of videos because I hadn't backed them up recently.  The first one I chose has a lovely eight point  buck .  Today I learned that some parts of the country count all the points on the antlers and some count the points on only one side.   The second video has at least one  doe .  I think it is a pair of does. One night a  fox  came through and visited. The last one that I chose to publish on YouTube has some anxiety.  Some deer are being chased by what seems to be a  coyote .  Only a chase on the video, no capture.  Exciting! Sheep Making

Yesterday's activities left me with very little energy this morning. To be fair, I also wasn't able to stay awake when I wrote yesterday's blog and was up and down most of the night trying to finish it. Whatever the reason, energy was lacking today. Eventually I did pull myself out of bed and was occasionally productive. Here are some happy things from today: Since I knew I would have a hard time getting my step count I started walking to the department store. I left about 45 minutes before Keziah did and she picked me up on her way to the store. Between the walk and department store I had around 8500 steps by lunch time. There was only a little pacing in the evening for me to make my 10,000 step-a-day goal. Along the road I kept seeing a flower. When I finally took a picture of it, I realized that I have seen this flower in other places but forgot its name. The Lens app was no help this time, probably because my picture wasn't very clear. Placebo Effect? -kinda long

 It was 2016 when I first tried to blog every day about something I was happy for.  If my tired mind is mathing correctly, that makes this the seventh year.  The reason I started was an attempt at reducing my depression.  It hasn't been a cure.  Getting my step count in every day for the last sixteen-ish months, and thus more exercise, also hasn't been a cure.  That said, the last... almost two years... have been rough on the world during the pandemic.  In the past I have tried a few anti-depression medications and not had success.  There have been weird side-effects including deepening the depression.  Then I don't want to try any new meds for a few years.  It was time to try again though.  The doctor prescribed a different medication and yesterday I took the first dose.   Today I couldn't find the charger for my FitBit.  Instead of tearing through my room leaving nothing but destruction in my path, I went through things, cleaning and organizing as I went.  At some poi
